The fork is mounted on a suitable holster, the receiver plate is mounted on the leg plate or belt loop. To attach the holster/magazine pouch it is being pushed into the receiver plate with the end of the fork until the fork audibly locks into the receiver plate. To disengage the lock both sides of the fork have to be pushed in while pulling the holster/magazine pouch upwards away from the receiver plate.
